The role:
Pieris seeks a strategic and highly collaborative Global Program Leader to oversee the development of our most advanced proprietary immuno-oncology bispecific Anticalin project through clinical development (from Phase II to BLA submission). As the Global Program Leader, you will be the “Program CEO”, driving alignment and implementation of strategy between the Executive Leadership Team and the cross-functional project team. As our portfolio is ever-developing, there is an opportunity to expand the role to multiple clinical-stage projects in the future. The position can be located in either Boston (United States) or Munich (Germany).
 

Your Tasks

  • Develop project strategy and set up an integrated cross-functional project plan (including CMC, regulatory, preclinical and clinical activities; including budget and FTE planning).
  • Lead our cross-functional immuno-oncology project team to initiate and conduct Phase II and III clinical studies, in cooperation with relevant line functions.
  • Monitor project progress, timelines, budget, resource allocation and risks. Develop mitigation plans and corrective actions should deviations occur.
  • Closely interact with functional area heads, group leaders and lead scientists from the different R&D departments.
  • Act as central point of communication for our project.
  • Report project progress to Pieris' Senior Leadership and lead projects through Pieris' governance committees and review processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with CMOs, CROs, regulatory agencies, key opinion leaders, clinicians and external partners.

Our Requirements

  • PhD degree or equivalent working experience in life sciences, ideally in oncology.
  • A minimum of six years of experience in the life sciences industry (biotechnology or pharmaceuticals).
  • Four or more years of experience in leading cross-functional project teams in a matrix environment.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully lead clinical projects through Phase II and III.
  • Very strong project leadership skills with an ability to strategize, prioritize, and manage projects to ensure meeting defined quality, time, and budget targets, as well as clearly articulating resource needs to ensure proper project execution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of drug development, including CMC, regulatory affairs, quality assurance and clinical studies.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Proven ability in working with external partners.
